[Updated  07:10 19/03/2019]

Daffs in bloom

Quiet weather continues in most of the UK during the next few days. It will often be cloudy but some warm sunny spells are likely. This weekend cooler air is expected to filters southwards. Next week high pressure remains in charge and the predominantly settled spell goes on....READ IN FULL

Tuesday starts overcast and damp in much of the UK. Through the day the north and west have patchy outbreaks of rain. In southern and eastern counties thicker cloud brings some drizzle, however it should be mainly dry. A few brighter spells develop.

Temperatures range from 8C (46F) in the north to 14C (57F) in the south. See the rain and precipitation type radar for the latest view.

Buzz

Tomorrow patchy spells of rain continue in the north, and in the far north west it will be windy. Elsewhere it stays mostly dry and cloud cover probably breaks more in the south than today. In sunny spells temperatures could reach a warmish 18C (64F).

Mainly settled outlook

Through Thursday outbreaks of rain affect Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Elsewhere isolated showers are possible but for most it will be dry. Some warm sunny intervals develop across England and Wales with the best of them in the east.

Friday probably brings more of the same. Wet weather continues in the north west and it will be windy in the north. Southern and central regions stay dry and quite warm.

During the weekend cooler air and patchy outbreaks of rain push southwards. There is uncertainty about the timing and southern counties probably remain dry and quite warm on Saturday. By Sunday temperatures dip closer to the average in the south and in the north it may be cold enough for snow over high ground.

Next week high pressure is expected to bring a good deal of fine weather. It could be quite chilly in the north and east early on but temperatures should rise again as milder air returns from the southwest.
