The unseasonably mild weather continues this weekend as the UK remains under a southwesterly air stream. There is a risk of rain in the far north west but other areas will be dry and often bright. Early next week little changes and if anything temperatures could climb a little higher as another wedge of warm upper level air moves up from the southwest....READ IN FULL
Saturday starts damp in the far north. Elsewhere it is dry but there is fog in places. Through the morning it gradually lifts and sunny spells develop. In Northern Ireland outbreaks of rain develop and they push eastwards into parts of western and northern Britain this afternoon. Central and eastern counties remain dry and bright.
Temperatures range from 12C (54F) in the north west to 17C (63F) in central and eastern counties. See the rain and precipitation type radar for the latest view.

Tomorrow virtually the whole of the country remains dry, but there could be some rain in the far north west. Fog lifts in the morning and sunny periods become widespread. It will be another very mild February day.

Little changes on Monday as very warm upper level air bathes the UK. In the north west there is a risk of Atlantic disturbances bringing rain but elsewhere fine weather is expected. If anything temperatures could be a little higher than in recent days.
Through Tuesday and Wednesday high pressure stays centred to the southeast of the UK. Atlantic disturbances bring the risk of further rain to the north west, but elsewhere the springlike period goes on.
The highest UK February temperature on record is 19.7C (67F). It was recorded in Greenwich, London, in 1998 and there is a chance of it being challenged early next week.
During the second half of the week things begin to change. High pressure declines and weather fronts from the Atlantic begin to make inroads. That suggests more typical conditions with closer to average temperatures and an increasing chance of rain.
