Sunday is off to a wet start in western Scotland and Northern Ireland but in other areas it is dry. Through the day the band of rain steadily pushes eastwards but it becomes light and patchy. Eastern counties remain dry but after a bright start cloud builds. In the north and west the opposite happens as the rain clears away, but it will be quite windy.
Temperatures will lower than recent days but they still reach double figures in much of the country. See the rain and precipitation type radar for the latest view.

Meteo France Arpege, rain, 12:00 GMT Mon 18th February
Tuesday is looking wet and windy weather in the north and west. Southern and central areas should be mainly dry but cloud amounts build through the day.
During the rest of the week high pressure becomes the dominant feature of the weather. It's exact positioning is uncertain but the UK will be on its western flank. Computer models are showing the likelihood of a very mild south or southwesterly flow and it's possible that temperatures may start approaching the February record late in the week. It's far from certain though and there is a chance of cooler air feeding in from the continent.
