Friday starts with frost and patchy fog in much of the UK. This morning the fog lifts and sunny spells develop widely. Through the day it remains bright in central and eastern England but elsewhere cloud builds. In the northwest outbreaks of rain develop in the afternoon.
After a chilly start it warms up quite quickly. In the afternoon temperatures range from 10C (50F) to 14C (54F). See the rain and precipitation type radar for the latest view.

During Sunday a band of rain pushes eastwards across western and central areas, but it becomes increasingly fragmented. Eastern areas probably stay dry. In the west it turns cooler later on as brighter skies return.
Early next week looks mixed. There is a risk of rain, particularly in the north, but the south may continue to have a good deal of dry weather. Temperatures should be close to the seasonal average in the north but the south stays milder.
Through the middle of the week high pressure builds from the south again, so the wet weather becomes increasingly confined to the north west. In the south the days could become very mild but nights remains chilly.
