An area of high pressure becomes centred over the continent in the next few days. It brings dry weather to much of the country but the north west remains more changeable as Atlantic disturbances push in. The set up leads to a mild south or southwesterly flow and it likely to feel springlike at times this week....READ IN FULL
Monday starts chilly with a frost in places. There are scattered showers in north eastern England but through the morning they clear away. This afternoon cloud builds in the north and west but central and eastern England hang on to brighter skies. By the early evening patchy outbreaks of rain could push into parts of Northern Ireland.
Temperatures range from 5C (41F) in Scotland to 10C (50F) in the south. See the rain and precipitation type radar for the latest view.

Tonight patchy outbreaks of rain the north affect the north west of the UK. Over the Scottish mountains snow is likely. Elsewhere it stays dry and clears spells lead to a local frost.

Tomorrow rain is likely in parts of the north and west. Southern and central counties have a dry day and some sunny spells develop. It will be mild in the north but temperatures stay close to the average in the south.

During Wednesday disturbances from the Atlantic continue to bring the risk of wet and windy conditions to the north west. The rest of the country remains dry with variable amounts of cloud.
Through the rest of the week high pressure becomes increasingly dominant. It leads to a lot of dry weather in most of the UK but Atlantic disturbances continue to brush the north west.
A long fetch south or southwesterly flow is expected to lead to very mild days. Temperatures could reach 16C (61F) and make it feel springlike. However, calm conditions and clear periods mean the nights could be quite chilly .
