Saturday starts dry and frosty in much of the country but there are wintry showers near the east coast. The snow that affected parts of southern England yesterday has moved away but the heavy falls it gave mean further travel disruption is probable.
During the rest of the day wintry showers continue in coastal counties. The heaviest ones will be in the east and some of them push inland at times. They mainly fall as snow and possibly give accumulations in places. Despite that much of the country stays dry and bright, although in the east there will be more cloud.
It will be a very cold. Parts of the north have an ice day and in much of the south temperatures peak at close to 3C (36F) but in snow less areas they will be a little higher. See the rain and precipitation type radar for the latest view.
GFS, temperatures, 15:00 GMT Sat 2nd February
Tonight a widespread and severe frost quickly sets in. Temperatures in rural areas could fall to between -5C (23F) and -10C(14F) in much of the country.
