During Tuesday an area of low pressure moves in from the Atlantic and probably heads towards northern France or the Bay of Biscay. It brings the potential for heavy outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow in southern and central counties. At this stage the risk of snow is uncertain but initially it is more likely to the north of the M4 corridor. As the system clears the risk may extend southwards.
Wednesday is looking very cold. Further wintry showers are expected and the could be heavy in the north and west.
During Thursday and Friday another area of low pressure moves in from the Atlantic. Weather fronts associated with it probably push northeastwards across the UK bringing the possibility of heavy rain and snow. The snow risk may increasingly be restricted to northern counties as milder air starts to filter into southern and central Britain.
