Milder air has returned overnight and temperatures today should reach double figures in parts of the UK. Tomorrow it's all change again as an active weather front pushes southeastwards and chilly air follows behind it. Next week the mixed weather continues and there could be some snow, especially over high ground in the north....READ IN FULL
Friday starts cloudy and damp in much of the country but clear spells in East Anglia mean there is still a frost. This morning patchy rain clears southeastwards and cloud breaks lead to some sunny intervals. It remains mainly damp in the west and this afternoon more persistent outbreaks of rain spread into the north west. Over the Scottish hills they turn to sleet and snow.
It will be milder than in recent days. Temperatures range from 6C (42F) in Scotland to 12C (54F) in the south west. See the rain and precipitation type radar for the latest view.

Tonight wet and quite windy weather affects northern areas. The rain could be heavy at times in Scotland with snow over the mountains. Southern and central regions have a cloudy and quite mild night.

Tomorrow morning a band of wet and windy weather pushes across Northern Ireland and into western Scotland. Ahead of it there will be some patchy rain but the south and east should be mainly dry and mild. Through the second half of the day the rain and strong winds push southeastwards. Blustery showers follow on behind it and temperatures drop.

Heavy and widespread showers are continue on Sunday morning. Over high ground in the north they turn increasingly wintry. Later on the showers increasingly become restricted to eastern counties. It will be quite cold and very windy with gales at times.
Next week the rather cold and changeable weather continues. Snow is possible at times with the greatest risk in the north and over high ground.
