Temperatures this afternoon will be between 3C (36F) and 5C (41F) in much of Britain, but a couple of degrees higher in the south west, far north west and Northern Ireland. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Meteo France Arpege, temperatures, 07:00 GMT Fri 4th January
Saturday starts with a widespread frost and much of the country has a dry and cold day. However, thicker cloud and light outbreaks of rain push into the north west later on.
Overnight and during Sunday patchy rain spread southeastwards into Wales and northern England. Late in the day the remnants of the wet weather could reach central and southern counties. It becomes less cold in the north.
Next week the weather could turn more changeable as high pressure centres in the Atlantic and disturbances move in from the north west. It probably stays quite cold and there is a risk of snow in northern areas, especially over high ground.
