Drier for Christmas week

Next week starts off on a mixed note. There is a risk of rain in the south on Christmas Eve but central and northern areas probably miss them and stay dry. It remains chilly in the north but mild in the south.

Christmas Day is set to be mainly dry as high pressure sits over the UK. In the east it could be quite chilly but temperatures will be higher in the west. The settled period continues on Boxing Day and through the rest of the week. The possibility of fog and nighttime frost will be dependent on the positioning of the high pressure area. If it becomes centred over the UK the risk will increase.
