Turning drier next week

The unsettled weather continues on Friday. A spell of wet and windy weather is expected to clear eastwards from southern counties during the morning, but in northern England the rain may persist for much of the day. Scotland and Northern Ireland have scattered showers.

The weekend brings mixed conditions but the weather probably begins to turn drier and quieter in the south as high pressure builds. It remains quite mild in the south but temperatures will be closer to average in the north.
