This morning wet and windy weather spreads northeastwards. The rain becomes heavy and on its leading edge there will be a mix of snow and freezing rain.
The worst conditions today will be in central and northern areas. Accumulations of snow could reach 5cm in northern England and 20cm in Scotland with even more on the mountains.
