Low pressure controls the weather on Monday and Tuesday. That keeps things mixed with showers or possibly longer spells of rain.
By Wednesday a change starts to take place as high pressure over the continent builds and exerts its influence. Initially that means drier conditions in the south and east of the UK with the north west having further periods of rain. However, the settled weather steadily extends across most of the UK, with the possible exception of the far north west. It also becomes very mild under a southerly flow. Computer models are suggesting temperatures could climb to 17C (63F). By next weekend there are signs of it turning cooler as high pressure builds northwards.
