Eastern areas hang on to very mild conditions today but the warm flow of air from the south will be cut off in the coming days as Atlantic disturbances push eastwards. That change leads to all regions having wet and windy spells and it could become stormy in the west on Friday....READ IN FULL
Tuesday starts with patchy rain in the north and west of the UK. During the day it remains dry in central and eastern areas with sunny spells at times. In the west patchy outbreaks of become more persistent this afternoon and winds strengthen.
Maximum temperatures range from 8C (48F) in Scotland to a very mild 17C (63F) in southern England. See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.

Winter 2018/19 weather - update 3
Tonight the wet and windy weather steadily pushes eastwards, affecting large parts of the UK by the morning. The extreme east could stay dry and more showery conditions return to Northern Ireland.
Tomorrow much of the country has outbreaks of rain but there will be some drier and brighter spells too. The heaviest rain is expected to in the north and west for much of the day. Temperatures will be down a little on today's values but it remains very mild in the south east.

Thursday is looking wet and windy in northern and western regions. Elsewhere it probably remains dry.
On Friday most areas have a dry start dry but heavy outbreaks of rain push into the west and winds strengthen. There is the potential for it to become very wet and windy as an area of low pressure in the Atlantic deepens and pushes towards the UK. Some computer models show wind gusts speed reaching 70mph in western coastal counties.
By Saturday morning the persistent rain should be clearing eastwards to leave a mix of sunshine and showers. There is a possibility of another area of wet weather pushing across southern and central counties on Sunday.
