Sunday begins with heavy outbreaks of rain in much of England and Wales but it is still drier to the south east of London and in East Anglia. Through the day the wet weather slowly pushes eastwards with clearer conditions returning to the west. The rain could lead to difficult driving conditions and some travel disruption. Scotland and Northern Ireland have a few showers but also dry and sunny periods.
Temperatures in the far south east could reach 18C (64F) before rain arrives later in the day. Elsewhere it will be cooler with values ranging from 7C (45F) in the far north to 13C (55F) in the south. See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.

During Tuesday and Wednesday it stays quite unsettled with wet and windy periods of weather in the north. Outbreaks of rain slowly spread southeastwards but ahead of them it could become warm again in the south and east. Temperatures will be close to the seasonal average in the north and west.
Through the second half of the week the changeable theme continues. The wettest and windiest spells are expected to be in the north. High pressure should keep southern counties drier and in the south east it could be quite warm at times.
