Winter 2018/19 weather - update 2
This evening showers continue in the north. In the south it becomes dry and clear spells allow temperatures to dip quite sharply. Later on cloudier skies spread eastwards over southern and central regions.
Tomorrow starts mostly dry but another area of low pressure will be moving in from the Atlantic. During the morning outbreaks of rain push into south western England and southern Wales. Through the afternoon the wet extends across much of southern and central Britain. Elsewhere there will be sunny spells but the north has scattered showers. It will be quite a chilly day.
Overnight and through Sunday heavy rain affects much of England and Wales, possibly leading to flooding in places. Winds strengthen and gales are possible in southern counties. The wet and windy combination leads to the possibility of severe weather and disruption. Scotland and Northern Ireland should stay brighter and showery.
