The weather continues to be in a changeable mood. Rain affects much of the country today but it will generally be drier tomorrow. Next week high pressure leads to lot of dry periods in southern counties but in the north disturbances from the Atlantic bring the likelihood of wet and windy spells....READ IN FULL
Saturday starts with outbreaks of rain in Wales and parts of western England. This morning the wet weather extends into Northern Ireland and spreads eastwards. It will be windy in the north west, and the rain becomes heavy at times, but counties to the south of London miss the worst. During the afternoon drier periods are likely but further pulses of rain push into the west later. Scotland has a mix of scattered showers and bright periods throughout the day.
Temperatures range from 14C (57F) in the north west to 20C (68F) in the south. See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.

Tonight rain continues in much of the country but northern Scotland and south eastern England stay mainly dry. By the end of the night drier conditions return from the west.
Tomorrow the north has a mix of sunny spells and blustery showers which could merge to give longer spells of rain. Southern and central counties have a lot of cloud and some patchy rain. There should be some brighter spells too and it will be warm in the sun.

Monday is expected to be dry and bright in southern and central regions. In the north west heavy outbreaks of rain push in from the Atlantic and they steadily move over much of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Winds strengthen in the north.

During Tuesday and Wednesday wet weather slowly edges southeastwards and cooler air follows from the northwest. Through the rest of the week high pressure keeps it mostly dry in southern and central regions but the north has further wet and windy periods. Temperatures are expected to be close to average in the north but it will be quite warm in the south.
