The Bank Holiday weekend will bring a mixed bag of weather. Tomorrow is expected to be the worst day of the three as a band of heavy rain spread eastwards across all areas. Next week the mixed theme continues but high pressure will often be sitting close to southern counties....READ IN FULL
Saturday is off to a showery start in the north and west but elsewhere it is dry. This morning sunny spells develop but showers continue and through the afternoon they become focused on southern and eastern areas. In the the west it becomes drier. If you are planning a barbecue it will be cool for the time of year and this evening temperatures drop rapidly as the sun sets.

Winter 2018/19 weather
Early tonight clear spells allow temperatures to drop quickly. Later on cloud thickens from the west and outbreaks of rain spread into Northern Ireland and western Britain by the morning.
Tomorrow wet and windy weather pushes eastwards. In exposed parts of the west and near to the south coast winds could gust to gale force. Some heavy bursts of rain are likely and it will feel cold. Drier conditions return to the west in the afternoon and to most other areas through the evening.

Bank Holiday Monday is looking reasonable. Scattered showers bubble up but many places stay dry and bright. Temperatures will be a little higher than in recent days and in the south top values approach 21C (70F).
Tuesday is looking dry and warm for much of the country but cloud and rain spread into the north west later on. On Wednesday there is a risk of heavy rain in central southern and eastern as a low pressure system runs northeastwards from the Bay of Biscay. However there is uncertainty about its exact track and it could head slightly farther east and miss most of England.

The rest of the week should often be dry in southern Britain. In the north disturbances moving in from the Atlantic keep it more mixed and there is a greater risk of rain.
