Ordinary British summer weather continues during the rest of the week. The south and east have the driest spells with periods of rain more frequent in the north west. Next week more settled conditions could extend northwards as high pressure to the south of the UK exerts more influence....READ IN FULL
Wednesday starts with patchy outbreaks of rain in the north and west but other areas are dry. The rest of the day will be fine and bright in southern, central and eastern England. Elsewhere it will be cloudier and outbreaks of rain continue in Northern Ireland and western Britain.
Maximum temperatures range from 15C (59F) in the far north west to a very warm 27C (81F) in eastern England. See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view

Tonight wet weather slowly spreads southeastwards across northern England and Wales with clearer and showery conditions following behind it. The south and east have a dry night with clear spells.
Tomorrow the band of wet weather pushes into central and south eastern England. At times the rain could be heavy and it may not clear from the south eastern corner until the early evening. Elsewhere brighter skies return but in the north west heavy showers develop. It will be a lot cooler than today in the south.

On Friday another disturbance pushes in the from the Atlantic. That brings rain to the north and possibly west but the rest of the country be dry and bright.
The changeable theme continues this weekend as the UK remains sandwiched between high pressure to the south and low to the north. Saturday is looking showery in the north and west but fine and quite warm elsewhere. On Sunday more persistent spells of rain probably push eastwards across central and northern areas. There is uncertainty about their exact track and whether they will fragment, so keep up to date with the latest forecasts if you are planning a barbecue or outdoor event.
Next week high pressure is expected to bring a good deal of dry weather to southern counties. The north remains more changeable with an ongoing risk of showers or longer spells of rain at times.
