The south and east have a lot of very warm and fine weather in the next few days but the north and west remain more changeable. By the weekend settled and warmer conditions spread northwards. Next week things become more uncertain....READ IN FULL
Wednesday starts dry across much of the UK but there is some light rain in the north west. This morning cloud builds over much of the north and west with outbreaks of rain pushing into Northern Ireland. Through the afternoon the rain spreads eastwards and affects much of Scotland, north western England and northern Wales. Elsewhere it will be dry with the best of the sunshine in the south and east.

Tonight wet weather continues to affect northern and western Britain but the rain becomes patchier. In the rest of the country it stays dry with variable amounts of cloud.
Tomorrow morning showery rain in the north peters out and most of the country has a dry day with warm sunny periods. Temperatures in East Anglia and the London area could reach 30C (86F). During the afternoon thicker cloud brings outbreaks of rain back into Northern Ireland.

On Friday an Atlantic flow continues to bring the risk of cloud and showery rain to the north. In southern and probably central areas it should be fine and hot. Temperatures could reach a scorching 34C (93F) in the south east.
The weekend is set to bring a lot of fine weather but there could be a few showers around. The south will be quite hot and warmer conditions filter northwards with temperatures in much of Scotland climbing above 21C (70F).

High pressure probably remains close to the UK next Monday and Tuesday so there should be a lot of fine weather. During the middle of the week there are signs of it becoming cooler and more mixed for a time as areas of low pressure approach. The extent of any change is uncertain and there are signs of high pressure building back quite quickly from the southwest.

Mostly dry and very warm weather is show in the south during the first week but there is a greater risk of rain in the north. Beyond that cooler conditions are favoured and there is an increasing chance of more changeable spells, particularly in the north. View latest GEFS.
