The next few days will be very warm in most of the UK but thundery showers are expected in places and the north west has more persistent rain at times. Next week changeable weather is expected to gradually take hold in all areas....READ IN FULL
Thursday starts with showers in parts of the north and west, and through the day they continue. Some of the showers become heavy and thundery but there will be sunny spells too. Central and eastern regions sunny periods develop but there is a risk of isolated showers this afternoon.
In the sunshine temperatures reach a warm 25C (77F) but it will be cooler in north west. See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.

Tonight the showers become lighter and gradually fade away. Minimum temperatures range from 10C (50F) in the north to 17C (63F) in the south.
Tomorrow looks similar to today. Sunny periods develop but in the north and west thundery showers bubble up in the afternoon. Eastern probably remain dry and in the south east temperatures peak at close to 28C (82F).

On Saturday cloud and rain push into Northern Ireland and western Scotland. The rest of the country has a lot of fine weather but thundery showers are a possibility in southern and central regions. Away from the north west it will be a very warm or hot.
Sunday should be fine in much of the UK but in the afternoon there is a chance of thunderstorms pushing up from France into southern counties. Disturbances from the Atlantic continue to bring cloudier skies and outbreaks of rain to the north west. In the south temperatures could reach a scorching 32C (90F).
Next week a transition to changeable weather is probable but the details are uncertain. During the first few days the greatest chance of wet spells is in the north and west with the south and east staying mainly dry. Later on the risk of wetter weather pushes southeastwards. Temperatures stay above the average and in the south east it could be very warm and humid for much of the time.
