GFS, precipitation, 16:00 BST Sun 1st July
During the first half of the next week scattered thundery showers are possible but computer models are suggesting a good deal of fine and very warm or even hot weather. Maximum daytime temperatures continue to approach 30C (86F) so the ongoing heatwave may cause problems.
The warmth probably continues through the second half of the week as the Atlantic remains locked out. However the risk of thunderstorms pushing up from France may increase in southern and central counties.
