Wednesday starts dry but it is murky in central and eastern areas. This morning the low cloud steadily burns back to the east coast, allowing long sunny periods to develop elsewhere. Maximum temperatures this afternoon will be close to yesterday's topping out at about 30C (86F) in the west. Near the east coast it remains a lot cool. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Summer forecast overview
Tonight cloud builds in the far north and in the east mist returns. The west has a muggy night but temperatures in east dip down to a fresh 10C (50F) by the morning.
Tomorrow the fine weather continues in much of the UK. Top temperatures should be similar to today's but once more it stays cooler and cloudier near the east coast.
Meteo France Arpege, cloud cover, 16:00 BST Thu 28th June
During Friday and Saturday high pressure remains the dominant feature. That brings fine and very warm conditions to most of the UK, but eastern coastal counties will be cooler and murkier.
Through Saturday night and Sunday the risk of thunderstorms in southern counties increases as a low pressure system pushes up from the Bay of Biscay. Computer models suggest the greatest risk of downpours and thunderstorms is in western England and Wales, but that could still change.
Next week temperatures gradually fall in central and northern areas as a more changeable pattern shapes up. Nonetheless there could still be a lot dry weather and in the south east hot air could filter in from the continent on Monday and Tuesday.
