Monday starts dry across the UK. The rest of the day brings long periods of sunshine to most areas but in western Britain and Northern Ireland it could be cloudier at times. Temperatures may nudge 30C (86F) in the southern half of the UK and even in eastern Scotland 25C (77F) is possible. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Summer forecast overview
Tonight it stays dry and clear. In the north temperatures drop into single figures but in the south minimum values hover won't be far off 15C (59F).
Tomorrow the fine weather continues in much of the country and if anything temperatures could be slightly higher than today's. In the north and west cloudier skies are possible at times and near the east coast it will be cooler.

During the rest of the week high pressure remains the dominant feature of the weather but subtle changes take place. The overnight GFS update shows pressure begin to fall over France and Spain this weekend and that would lead to an increasing risk of thundery showers in the southern half of the UK. However, at this stage showers look likely to be isolated with the majority of the country remaining dry and very warm.
The first week of July has the potential to be more mixed. On the whole it looks as though there will be a lot of warm and dry weather as ridges of high pressure build across the UK.
