GFS, forecast temperatures, 16:00 BST Sun 24th June
On Monday and Tuesday high pressure centred over the UK bring weather to all areas. It will be very warm and in the southern half of the UK temperatures should reach the upper 20Cs.
During the middle part of the week high pressure becomes positioned to the east. The fine spell continues and there is the potential for temperatures to reach or exceed 30C (86F) in much of the UK.
The heatwave probably goes on through the rest of the week but there is uncertainty about the details. A few computer model runs have shown the heat peaking towards next weekend with temperatures possibly climbing up towards the mid 30Cs. However those values are at the very top end of the predictions.
