Summer forecast overview

This evening showers fade away to leave clear spells. By the end of the night cloudier skies and showery rain spreads into the west.

Mixed weekend

Tomorrow an area of low pressure pushes eastwards across the UK. That brings showery spells of rain and there will be some heavy bursts mixed in, particularly in the north. Winds strengthen, especially across the southern half of the UK. During the afternoon brighter skies return from the south west.

Sunday begins with isolated showers but central and eastern regions are expected to be mostly dry with sunny spells. In the west cloud builds and during the second half of the day outbreaks of rain are possible.

Warming up next week

Monday and Tuesday look set to bring a good deal of warm and sunny weather to southern areas. The north remains more changeable and on Wednesday outbreaks of rain push southeastards. Once they clear away a good deal of dry weather is likely in the southern half of the UK. The north remains more changeable and cooler.
