Seasonal forecast for June, July and August
Summer forecast overview
ICON, forecast temperatures, 16:00 BST Sun 3rd June
Tonight showers continue but most of them should be light. In the east skies cloud over but elsewhere there will be clear spells.
Tomorrow the east has a good deal of cloud, but the west has sunny spells and during the afternoon some heavy showers could develop. It stays warm in the west but the overcast skies keep it cooler in the east.
Tuesday is expected to bring a lot of fine weather, although cloudier periods are possible, particularly in the south. In sunny spells it feels pleasantly warm but temperatures will be lower than in recent days.
GFS, forecast temperatures, 16:00 BST Tue 5th June
Through the middle part of the week there should be plenty of fine and warm weather, although eastern coastal counties remain cooler. Thundery showers perhaps become a risk again in the south, and in the north west an Atlantic influence brings the possibility of cloud and rain.
By the end of the week a transition to a cooler and more changeable pattern is expected to start taking place but the details remain uncertain. There could still be quite a lot of dry and bright spells but the risk of wet weather increases and temperatures become close to the seasonal average.
