Tonight thundery downpours in the south fade away. The north has a dry night with clear periods.

Tomorrow brings more very warm weather but the risk of thundery showers persists in the south. In the north east it could be cloudier and cooler.

Wednesday may be more mixed with the risk of thundery showers spreading northwards. There is expected to be more cloud than in recent days but in sunny spells it will be very warm and humid.

Second half of the week

Changes through the second half of the week are likely to be slow. It will stay very warm with temperatures climbing above 27C (81F) in sunny spells but thunderstorms continue to be possible in much of the UK. A similar theme continues this weekend and early next week.
