Warm weather continues through the rest of the week and the north should be mostly dry. In the south things are more more uncertain as low pressure centred over France makes it presence felt.

Tuesday starts with patchy rain in Scotland but that fades away quite quickly. There are also a few showers to the southeast of London but through the morning sunny periods develop widely over the UK. As the daytime warmth builds scattered thundery showers break out in southern and central regions but many places miss them.
Temperatures this afternoon range from 12C (54F) in the north west to 24C (75F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight showers in the south peter out. The north has quite a fresh feeling night but temperatures in the much of the south stay in double figures.
Tomorrow southern counties have warm and sunny periods but scattered thundery showers bubble up again. The north remains dry and bright.
On Thursday outbreaks of thundery rain are expected to become more widespread and persistent in the south. Central and northern regions have a dry, warm and sunny day.
Through Friday the thundery rain steadily pushes northwards into central regions. Areas to the south and north have spells of warm sunshine.
At this stage the details for the Bank Holiday weekend weather are uncertain. The general picture is for high pressure to be centred to the north of the UK and low pressure to the south. An increasingly warm air mass filters in from southern Europe and upper air temperatures climb above 15C. At this time of the year that can support values of 30C (86F) in sunny periods at the surface, so there is the potential for it to become hot!

The uncertainty focuses around the balance of influence between the high and low pressure areas, and consequently the extent of the showery activity. In the last couple of days computer models have been showing the low pressure becoming a bigger player. That leads to an increasing risk of downpours in southern and central regions.
At this stage it looks as though Scotland will have fine weather this weekend and on Bank Holiday Monday. Elsewhere the risk of thundery downpours continues but it will become very warm.
The risk of showers is expected to decrease next week. All regions should have warm and sunny conditions but it may become cooler in early June.
