The coming week will bring a lot of Goldilocks weather - "neither too hot nor too cold, but just the right temperature". At times there will be rain in the north west and in the south thundery showers are a risk, but for many it stays fine.

Sunday begins dry in much of the UK but there are patchy spells of rain in the north west. The rest of the day brings long periods of sunshine to southern and central regions. The north and west will be cloudier with outbreaks of rain in Northern Ireland and Scotland.
Temperatures this afternoon range from 12C (54F) in the north west to a warm 25C (77F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight wet weather continues in the far north west. The rest of the country has a dry night with clear spells.
Tomorrow the far north west of the UK will be overcast and wet. Elsewhere warm sunny periods develop and temperatures should be a degree or so higher than today's. However there is a likelihood of heavy showers and thunderstorms breaking out in the south as low pressure centred over France edges northwards.
Tuesday brings similar conditions. For many it will be fine and warm but thundery showers bubble up in southern and central counties.

During the rest of the week a lot of fine weather is expected. In the south showers probably become more scattered as high pressure builds down from the north. At this stage it looks as though the settled spell will last into and through the Bank Holiday weekend.
