Tomorrow the fine weather continues in the southern half of the UK and temperatures could reach 28C (82F) which would beat the current May Day bank holiday record by more than 4C! In the north there is likely to be more cloud and showery outbreaks of rain are possible again in northern and western Scotland.
GFS 00z, forecast pressure and precipitation, 16:00 BST Mon 7th May
Tuesday should be fine and very warm in central and eastern areas. In the north, and possibly west, it is expected to be cooler with showery rain.
Through the rest of the week it looks as though a changeable set-up gradually spreads southwards as a west or southwesterly flow returns from the Atlantic. Early on there should be a reasonable amount of dry weather in the south but by next weekend it could be quite cool in all regions with showers or longer spells of rain.
