On Monday heavy rain and strong winds are expected in central and eastern England. In eastern coastal counties gales are possible. It will also be unusually cold for the time of year and there is a risk of snow falling over high ground in the south. Western and northern areas should be mostly dry and bright but there is some uncertainty about how far the wet weather will reach.
