Easter Monday is off to a mostly dry start in Scotland and south western England but elsewhere it's a wet or white picture. In the south precipitation is falling as rain but in central and northern England as well as northern Wales there are outbreaks of snow.
Through the course of the day the drier weather in the south west spreads across more of southern and central England. Wet weather continues elsewhere with outbreaks of snow spreading into Scotland. In central regions snow increasingly turns back to rain but in northern England further accumulations are likely, especially over the hills.

Snowy parts of the north have a very cold day but in the south it turns a lot milder. See the recently upgraded rainfall and precipitation type radar for the latest view.
Tonight rain and snow continues to affect Scotland and Northern Ireland. Southern and central regions will be milder with showery rain.
Tomorrow wet weather continues in the north and there will be more snow over the Scottish hills. Southern and central regions have sunny spells and showers. In the sunshine it will feel pleasantly warm.
On Wednesday it remains cold in the north with an ongoing risk of rain and hill snow. Wet weather also extends over southern and central regions.
During the second half of the week the level of uncertainty increases as cold and warm air masses will both be close to the UK. Currently it looks like unsettled weather will continue in the north and west. In the south east there is a chance of it becoming drier and warmer at times as a plume of warm air spreads northwards across continental Europe. Nonetheless an adjustment to the global pattern of as little as 100 miles will leave all of the UK under an unsettled regime.

Changeable conditions are shown throughout the 16 day period. After a cold start a wide temperature spread is shown indicating low forecast confidence but there is a weak signal for it to become less cold in the north and warmer in the south. View latest GEFS.
