The rest of the Easter period will be unsettled and cold. Much of the UK will be murky and wet today but there is a better chance of dry weather tomorrow. During Easter Monday rain, sleet and snow spread northeastwards.

Saturday begins wet in much of England, Wales and eastern Scotland but it is a drier in Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Through the day rain continues but it becomes patchier and increasingly focused on central and eastern areas. In the north east outbreaks of rain remain heavier and at times they turn to snow.

It stays cold with maximum temperatures ranging from 3C (37F) in the north to 8C (46F) in the south. See the recently upgraded rainfall and precipitation type radar for the latest view.
Tonight showery rain and snow continues in the east. Elsewhere it becomes mostly dry and clear spells in the north and west lead to a frost. In the Scottish Glens temperatures could dip to around -8C (18F).
Tomorrow a cold east or southeasterly flow covers the UK. There should be quite a lot of dry weather but wintry showers are likely in the east. During the second half of the day cloud builds across the southern half of the UK and heavy outbreaks of rain spread into the south west.

On Bank Holiday Monday an area of heavy rain pushes northeastwards and on its leading edge snow is likely. Significant and disruptive accumulations of snow are possible in central and northern regions.

Through the rest of next week it remains unsettled. Central and northern regions probably stay cold. In the south the focus is on wet weather and close to average temperatures.
