Rain clears eastwards today to leave brighter conditions. Unsettled weather continues during the next few days and there is a risk of wet snow in the southern half of the UK tomorrow morning.

Tuesday is off to a wet start central and eastern areas. In the west showery conditions have returned and through the morning they push eastwards. This afternoon sunny spells develop across much of the country but showers bubble up. In Scotland persistent outbreaks of rain continue for much of the day over high ground there will be snow.

Maximum temperatures range from 7C (45F) in the north west to 13C (55F) in central and eastern England. See the recently upgraded rainfall and precipitation type radar for the latest view.
Tonight northern areas become mostly dry and under clearing skies a frost develops. In the south another spell of wet weather pushes in from the west. Over high ground in Wales rain may turn to snow.
Tomorrow morning wet weather affects southern and central regions. There is a risk of rain turning to snow at times, especially over high ground where temporary accumulations are possible. The north has a mix of sunshine and wintry showers. All regions have a cold day.

Unsettled weather continues on Thursday and Good Friday as low pressure becomes centred close to southern Britain. The north will be cold with a risk of sleet or snow showers and in the south persistent outbreaks of rain are expected.

During the Easter weekend the cold air in the north may gradually sink southwards. Easter Sunday could be mostly dry in the south with wintry showers in central and northern regions. On Bank Holiday Monday there is a chance of rain pushing up from the southwest and turning to snow in central and northern regions as it bumps into the cold air.
