Tonight the wet weather slowly pulls away and by the end of the night it is likely to be confined to East Anglia and the south east. In the north a touch of frost is possible.
Tomorrow early rain clears to leave dry and bright conditions in central and eastern regions. In the west cloud builds and it could turn drizzly later on.
On Wednesday persistent and heavy outbreaks of rain push in from the southwest. By the evening wet weather affects much of the north and west. Through Thursday the band of persistent rain pushes northeastwards with heavy showers following on behind it.

If that happens temperatures would not be as low as in late February but widespread nighttime frosts and snow would be possible.
This morning's ECM model run has a Beast from the East weather pattern setting up by the weekend. The blues and purples indicate show bitterly cold upper level air filtering westwards across continental Europe and into the UK.
