Thursday begins dry in much of the UK but there are showers in parts of the north and west. Sunny spells develop this morning but there will be further showers in the north west. During the afternoon a more organised band of showery rain spreads eastwards across Wales and western England, and then into central areas.

Temperatures range from 4C (39F) in Scotland to a very mild 9C (48F) in the south. The rainfall radar is updating normally again now. The delays yesterday were cause by problem with the incoming data feed which was beyond our control.
Tonight the showers move away eastwards. Clearing skies lead to a quite a widespread frost in the north.
Tomorrow isolated showers are possible but it should be mostly dry and bright during the morning. In the afternoon cloud builds in the west and outbreaks of rain reach Northern Ireland by early evening.
On Saturday outbreaks of rain move in from the Atlantic but they fragment as they push southeastwards. Sunday brings further wet weather to the north and west but the south remains drier.
Next week is looking mixed. Temperatures could fall as high pressure becomes centred to the southwest of the UK and winds turn into a northwesterly direction.
