The week ahead will bring mixed weather and things become very uncertain towards the weekend. Milder conditions return tomorrow but colder air will be trying to push southwards late in the week. All areas have rain at times.

Monday begins cold and frosty for most but there are outbreaks of rain in northern Scotland. Through the day wet weather extends across the northern half of the UK. Southern and central regions remain dry and bright, although cloud amounts gradually increase this afternoon.
It will be cold with temperatures ranging from 5C (41F) in Scotland to 7C (45F) in the south. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight outbreaks of rain push down into southern and central regions but they become increasingly patchy. Clearer conditions follow into the north.
Tomorrow there will be patchy rain and some heavier outbreaks in the north and west. Some sunny spells develop in the east. It will be quite mild.
On Wednesday rain affects the north and west. Central and eastern regions remain dry with a few bright spells but a good deal of cloud.
During the second half of the week changeable weather continues with bands of rain and colder air probably pushing southwards. The forecast details are uncertain and an area of low pressure to the southwest of the UK could push mild and wet subtropical air across southern regions.
