It will be fairly mild today but colder conditions will return for the weekend. During the second half of November there are tentative indications of wintry weather.
Thursday starts with cloud and patchy rain in the south but central and northern regions are mostly dry and mild. Through the day it turns drier in the south. All regions have some sunshine but showery rain affects western Scotland.
Temperatures range from 8C (48F) in the north to 14C (57F) in the south west. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight patchy rain spreads into Northern Ireland and the southern half of Britain. Scotland remains mostly dry with clear spells.
Tomorrow central and northern areas have showers. The south should be dry and the cloud breaks at times.
During Friday night and into Saturday morning outbreaks of heavy rain push southeastwards across Northern Ireland, Wales and much of England. The wet weather clears the south east on Saturday morning to leave a cold and showery weekend. Showers turn wintry over high ground in central and northern areas and perhaps down to lower levels at times in Scotland. Frost is likely in the north on Saturday night and across all regions on Sunday night.
