Heavy rain clears today to leave cold and mostly dry weather, so it is looking promising if you're going to a fireworks display this weekend. Early next week it remains changeable and chilly.
Saturday begins very wet across much of England but clearer conditions have already returned to the west. In Scotland and Northern Ireland it's a showery picture. The rain moves eastwards through the day and it should clear from East Anglia and the south east during the middle of the afternoon. Bright skies follow but showers continue in the north and west.
It will feel cold with temperatures ranging from 6C (42F) in the north to 12C (54F) in the south. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight showers continue in the west and north. Elsewhere it should be mostly dry, clear and cold.
Tomorrow begins with showers in coastal counties but they become lighter and more isolated as the day progresses. Inland areas have a sunny and cold day. Frost returns overnight and temperatures could plunge to -5C (27F) in Scotland.
Monday looks dry in the east but rain pushes into the west and turns to snow over the Scottish mountains snow. On Tuesday the wet weather clears southeastwards and is followed by cool and showery conditions.
