The weekend weather isn't looking bad generally but it will turn chilly with the season's first widespread frost expected tomorrow night. Don't forget the clocks FALL back 1 hour at 2am tonight meaning the dark evenings will well and truly be here.
Saturday begins windy and in the north there are patchy outbreaks of rain. Through the rest of the day there will be a lot of cloud but some bright spells develop. Light spells of rain continue, mostly in the north and west. It remains windy and in the north where there will be gales.
Temperatures range from 11C (52F) to 15C (59F) where the sun puts in an appearance. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight light rain spreads southwards and clearer skies follow into the north. Scotland has a cold night and in sheltered locations a touch of frost is likely.
Tomorrow starts overcast in the south but it quickly brightens up. Central and northern areas have sunny spells but there will be showers in Scotland and over high ground they could fall as snow. It will feel cold despite winds being lighter than today.
Monday begins cold and frosty in much of the country. During the day outbreaks of rain spread across the north west of the UK but southern and central regions probably remain dry. Central and northern areas have more wet weather on Tuesday but high pressure keeps it drier in the south.
