The outlook for next week is mixed but the weekend should bring a good deal of dry weather. Don't forget the clocks FALL back 1 hour at 2am on Sunday 29th October meaning the dark evenings will well and truly be here.
Friday starts dry and chilly. This morning sunny periods develop and it remains fine for most this afternoon. In the far north it will be windy and a few showers are likely.
It will be cooler in the south than recently. Temperatures range from 8C (48F) in Scotland to 14C (57F) in the south. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight cloud builds and outbreaks of rain push into western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Elsewhere it remains dry.
Tomorrow wet weather affects north western England and western Scotland but elsewhere it should be mostly dry and mild. It will be very windy in the north with severe gales in exposed places.
Through Sunday light outbreaks of rain push southwards and colder air returns to northern and eastern regions. A few wintry showers are possible in the Scottish Highlands.
Monday begins chilly with the risk of quite a widespread frost. During the day rain moves across most of the UK but it stays dry in the south.
