The October Central England Temperature (CET) to the 24th is a massive 2.3C above the average. In the coming days colder air filters southwards but the latest data paints a mixed picture for next week.
Thursday begins murky with patchy rain in England and Wales but Northern Ireland and Scotland are brighter. Through the rest of the day a few showers break out in the far north but it remains mostly fine in the north. Farther south it becomes drier and sunny spells develop.
Temperatures range from 8C (48F) in Scotland to 15 (59F) in the south. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight cooler and clearer air pushes southwards. In northern areas a touch of frost is likely.
Tomorrow will be dry and bright for most, although a few spots of rain are possible in the far north. Temperatures in the south will be down on today's value.
On Saturday cloudier skies spread southwards and in the north west there will be some showery rain. Through Sunday patchy outbreaks of rain push southwards and colder air returns to northern and eastern regions.
Monday begins chilly with the risk of quite a widespread frost. During the day rain moves across most of the UK but it should stay dry in the south.
