All areas stay unsettled in the coming days. Stormy weather is expected during Friday night and Saturday, especially in the southern half of the UK.
Thursday starts foggy in central and eastern areas. In the north and west there are patchy outbreaks of rain. This morning rain spreads into Northern Ireland and central England. This afternoon it remains wet in central and northern England as well as the north west of the UK. Elsewhere there will be a lot of cloud but there may be a few bright spells in the far south east.
Temperatures range from 10C (50F) in Scotland to 17C (63F) in the south. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight much of the UK has wet weather. In southern and western coastal counties it will be windy.
Tomorrow morning it turns drier and some bright spells develop. Through the afternoon wet and windy weather spreads into the south west and Northern Ireland as a deepening area of low pressure moves in from the Atlantic. That may end up being named Storm Brian.
Overnight heavy bursts of rain push eastwards. Very windy conditions are forecast in the southern half of the UK with computer models showing gusts of over 70mph in exposed western coastal areas. On Saturday gusts of between 55mph and 65mph are possible in southern and central areas. Further rain is likely and disruption could occur. Calmer, drier and cooler conditions return on Sunday.
