Autumn warmth this week

[Updated 06:45 09/10/2017]

Red sky

Unsettled weather continues in the north and west. The south and east have some rain but it will often be dry and during the second half of the week temperatures could climb above 21C (70F).

Monday begins overcast and there are a few outbreaks of light rain around. The rest of the day brings predominantly dry conditions and some sunny spells develop. Later on cloud thickens from the northwest and in the evening rain pushes into Northern Ireland and western Scotland.

Temperatures range from 10C (50F) in the north to 17C (63F) in the south. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.

Tonight rain affects northern and western areas. Elsewhere it should be mostly dry although there could be a few showers in central and eastern areas.

Tomorrow another band of wet and windy weather spreads into the north and west. The south and east remain dry.

On Wednesday wet and windy weather moves southeastwards. Clearer conditions follow on.

Through the second half of the week a warm southwesterly flow develops as high pressure builds to the south and east. The north west probably remains changeable.
