Very unsettled conditions are expected in the next few days. Next week high pressure should build from the south and bring an increasing chance of dry weather.
Friday starts with rain affecting much of the country. This morning the outbreaks of rain spread eastwards and clearer conditions follow into the west. The wet weather should clear eastern counties by the early afternoon but in the west of the UK heavy showers develop.
Temperatures range from 12C (54F) in the north to 17C (63F) in the south. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight showers continue in the west. Elsewhere it remains dry and clear spells develop.
Tomorrow wet and windy weather pushes westward across the southern half of the UK but eastern England could remain dry for much of the day. The north has brighter conditions but a few showers are likely. On Sunday outbreaks of rain return and in the north they are likely to be heavy. It will be windy with gales in the north.
During Monday there is the potential for a spell of very wet and windy to push southeastwards. Severe gales are possible in parts of England and Wales.
