[Updated 07:25 25/09/2017]

Car in the rain

All areas have wet weather at times this week but early on the east should have some warm sunshine. During the second half of the week it becomes increasingly unsettled as weather systems push in from the Atlantic.

Monday starts with rain in the central spine of Britain and between London and Leeds it is very heavy. Through the course of the day the outbreaks of rain steadily become lighter and they edge westwards a little. Western parts of the UK as well as East Anglia and the south eastern corner should stay mostly dry.

Temperatures range from 12C (54F) in the north west to 21C (70F) in East Anglia. See the the rainfall radar for the latest view.

Tonight it becomes drier in southern and eastern regions. The west remain cloudier with the risk of some light outbreaks of rain.

Tomorrow the east has a dry day with some pleasantly warm sunshine. It remains cloudier in the west and there could still be some light rain.

On Wednesday wet and windy weather spreads into western and possibly central regions. The east stays dry, bright and quite warm.

During the rest of the week all regions have rain at times, There could also be some very windy spells.
