The weekend is expected to be dry in the east but wet weather affects the west of the UK. Next week high pressure over the continent probably keeps the east mostly dry but the west remains unsettled.
Saturday begins overcast and locally there are a few spots of rain. This morning the cloud begins to break and through the afternoon southern and eastern counties have sunny intervals. The north west keeps cloudier skies and winds strengthen with outbreaks of rain pushing into Northern Ireland.
Temperatures range from 12C (54F) in the north west to 20C (68F) in the south east. See the the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight wet and windy weather affects the north west. Some rain could reach Wales and western England but central and eastern areas remain dry.
Tomorrow western areas have outbreaks of rain. The east has a dry day with some sunny intervals but quite a lot of cloud too. Overnight and through Monday the rain probably pushes into eastern England.
Early next week fine weather is expected in the south and east whilst the north and west stay under a changeable Atlantic flow. Latest guidance points to unsettled weather slowly pushing eastwards late in the week.
