The weather remains very mixed. During the second half of the week a strengthening jet stream may lead to a very windy and autumnal period. The September outlook has been issued.
Monday begins damp and murky. Through the day drizzle and overcast conditions affect much of England and Wales, but a few cloud breaks could develop. In Scotland wet weather pushes in from the west, and at times it extends into Northern Ireland.
Despite the predominantly cloudy skies it will be quite warm. The southern half of the UK could see temperatures reaching 23C (73F). Check the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight outbreaks of rain affect Northern Ireland and southern Scotland Areas to the south and north remain drier.
Tomorrow the rain spreads over much of the north and west of the UK. Central and eastern England could have some drizzle and light rain. Wednesday looks cooler and brighter with scattered showers in the north.
During the second half of the week an unsettled and autumnal spell of weather is expected to develop. There is the potential for very wet and windy periods to affect all regions. Buzz looks at the meteorological autumn.
