Mixed week on the way

[Updated 07:10 21/08/2017]

Overcast weather

The week ahead will bring changeable weather. The same general theme is set to continue for the Bank Holiday weekend but forecast details are uncertain.

Monday begins murky in much of the southern half of the UK but parts of the north are brighter. Through the day it becomes mostly dry in England and Wales with the likelihood of some bright spells. In Northern Ireland heavy outbreaks of rain return and they gradually spread into north western England and western Scotland.

Temperatures range from about 17C (63F) in the west to a warm and humid 24C (74F) in the south. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.

Tonight drier conditions return to Northern Ireland but wet weather continues in much of Scotland. England and Wales have a dry and muggy night with temperatures in the south probably not falling below 18C (64F).

Tomorrow southern and central regions have warm sunny spells but scattered showers are possible. The north has an overcast day with wet weather at times.

During Wednesday rain pushes across central and northern areas. Cooler and showery weather follows from the west. The rest of the week stays changeable with the best chance of more settled periods in the south.
